PANAJI: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President Vijai Sardesai today claimed that Congress is ready to form an alliance with them for the upcoming polls.
Addressing the media, Vijai said that two days back, he has received a go-ahead from Goa Congress Desk Charge Dinesh Gundu Rao that Congress was ready for an alliance with the Goa Forward Party.
“The Pramod Sawant led BJP government is allergic to democracy and has completely lost it,” he said
Vijai further said that if his party is voted to power, they will provide green energy and not energy by burning coal.
“Look around you, and you’ll see that the last thing they have on their mind is Goa and Goemkars. Take Covid management or mismanagement, for example, our Goemkar brothers and sisters died in hundreds because of lack of oxygen supply! In Goa! Because they did not have drivers for tractors! Have you ever seen one ore truck stuck somewhere because there was no driver? Have you ever seen one coal wagon broken down on the tracks?” Questioned Vijai
GFP said that economy of the state has been so grossly mismanaged that serious social and economic disaster is awaiting Goa.
“There is no plan either short term or long term to fix it. We are borrowing money by the tons yet those suffering because of Covid have been left in the lurch. Goan businesses have collapsed or are on the verge of collapse. Goan workers are jobless and unemployment is rampant,” he added
He said that it’s only because of Goa Forward putting pressure relentlessly that some relief has been given to the families of the covid dead but there’s so much suffering all around and the government is least bothered.
“The tokenism of the forthcoming 3-day assembly session is another chapter of fraud and deceit by this Sawantawadi Govt. We have repeatedly demanded a full session to be held as many important and critical issues facing Goans and our future generations have to be debated and discussed,” he said
Meanwhile, Vijai said that hundreds of Goemkars have died since we last met because of this govt, and the people want answers. But the govt is running away.
