MAPUSA: Congress Goa Secretary Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar stated on that the Goans’ views would be heard before the Party High Command made a decision, stating that the people of Goa do not want the Congress to form any alliances with opposition parties for the next elections. Anjali expressed confidence that the Congress would run in every seat and that the Congress High Command would listen to the people of Goa.
After visiting 20–25 constituencies, Anjali declared, “The voice of the Goan people is one sided. Voters and members of Congress oppose any alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party or any other party. We are adamant that the Goan people would support the Congress this time. For the local body and 2027 assembly elections, I shall raise the voices of Goans opposing the collaboration with the AAP.” Anjali responded angrily when a journalist pointed out that the AAP had already made the decision to run alone in the next elections: “We don’t mind if they have announced their plan to run. We haven’t approached anyone to plead for an alliance at their home.”
In the 2027 Assembly elections, Dr. Anjali Nimbalkar announced on Sunday that the Congress would also run a party candidate in the Benaulim Assembly constituency. She added, “Why not Benaulim? Of course, we will field our party candidate there as well.” Benaulim is outside of Goa, right? Benaulim is inside Goa, as far as I’m aware. Anjali was responding to a scribe’s question about whether the Congress would run for all the seats, including Benaulim, which is represented by Venzy Viegas, an MLA for the Aam Aadmi Party.
