Pernem:Container truck met with accident at Patradevi Checkpost-Driver, Cleaner escape unhurt.
A truck carrying cable containers which was proceeding towards Mumbai from Goa lost control and met with accident at Patradevi Checkpost post.
Sources informed that absence of signboards on the highway led to this accident. The driver and cleaner escaped unhurt however the vehicle as well as Cable containers were majorly damaged while causing loss to the owner.
The highway from Patradevi to Colvale is totally in bad condition and have turned into death trap for daily commuters and travelers. In this regards, people as well as social activists from Pernem have made several represention to Dy Collector Pernem, Mamlatdar as well as Pernem Police requesting to take action against the highway contractor while people have also blocked the highway seeking attension of concern authorities but till date the highway contractor as well as concern authorities have not bothered to take any serious actions.
In last three years more then 20 people have lost their lives in the road accidents that have occured on the Highway due to the on going work.
