The temples of Lord Shiva across the State wore a deserted look despite the Nagpanchami festival, wherein Lord Nagdevta is worshipped every year on this day.
Temples across the State witness a huge queue every year but this time almost negligible amount of people visited the temples.
Only priests at the temples performed the annual rituals.
Sharmila Gaunekar (Caranzalem) says due to prevailing situation of Covid and rising cases in and around of Caranzalem, she has have not stepped out of the house for nag pachami puja.
“We just prayed from our house. I have also informed my sister not to visit and perform pooja at home only,” she said.
Nagpanchami is the first festival in Shravan Month, a holy month for the Hindus across the country.
