CANACONA: It’s a fact that there are more than 300 active Covid-19 cases in Canacona, most of whom have opted for home isolation, but what has surprised and angered everyone here is a patient inspite of he knowing that he is putting to risk others lives visited a local pharmacy the video of which gone viral since Tuesday.
In the 50 second video clip which is downloaded from the CCTV camera of the pharmacy, a man enters the pharmacy, asks the staff for medicine and tells them to sanitize their hands as he is Covid-19 patient.
When the girl working in the pharmacy asked why he is moving out inspite knowing that he is positive he answers that he has to buy his own medicine and asks the girl as to who will bring medicine to him.
While the netizens applauded the girl for showing courage to ask him why he is going out risking others lives, others questioned the administration and the man himself for exposing others to the deadly virus.
Samrat Bhagat a vocal local from Canacona expressed his anger on social media requesting those tested positive to isolate themselves in their homes and not to come out for silly reasons.
“Anything that is required, even medicine has to be delivered to the patients house and in no way the patient or his or her family members should be allowed to put others lives to risk” Bhagat expressed on social media.
Bhagat added that the administration has to see that the needs of such people are taken care off.
Another wrote ‘see how covid positive patients are openly roaming in various shops in Canacona, who is responsible for this situation, isn’t it right time for lock down?
“Its very dangerous” Nilesh Naik a taxi owner wrote.
Enquiries by this correspondent revealed that the local administration is helpless in handling such matters and inspite of they explaining the SOPs in such matters one patient in one hundred indulges in such behaviour putting the life of others to risk.
“We will continue to put more efforts to see that those infected follow strict home isolation so that all the people of this taluka can be safe said the same source.
