Margao – Responding to the request made by Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat, Government today started a Covid Antigen Testing Centre in Malbhat.
The Testing Centre will be open from 9 am to 5 pm including on Sunday and the results will be made available to patients in 15 to 20 minutes informed Dr. Vinella Gomes who is incharge of the Centre. She is assisted by four nurses.
I really appreciate the efforts of Collector – South Goa and Directorate of Health Services to quickly respond to my request and start Antigen Covid Test Centre at Malbhat-Margao. I also thank Dr. Vinella Gomes & her Team for attending the patients from today Digambar Kamat said.
I thank the Chief Minister and Health Minister for granting permission to set-up the centre which will help in controlling the likely third wave. I want to caution the government right now to be ready to start RTPCR testing at this Centre incase need arises Digambar Kamat said.
I have requested the doctor to start testing of the patients immediately. This is not an occasion to celebrate Digambar Kamat said.
Margao MLA was personally present at the Centre when set-up arrangements were being made and the testing started without any formal inauguration by lighting the lamp etc.
It may be recalled that Margao MLA had done the inspection of the site four days back with the Deputy Collector and other officials and had urged the Chief Minister to start a testing centre at Malbhat.
