BETIM: The Crime Branch, led by PI Mahesh Gadekar and assisted by PSI Madhav Naik, Head Constable Uddesh Kerkar, and Kritesh Kinalkar, conducted a narcotics raid from 03:40 hrs to 06:30 hrs on 20/05/2026 under the flyover near Mondovi Bridge, close to the wholesale fish market at Betim Jetty.
During the operation, two Nepali nationals — Arjun Shovaram Bishwokarma (36) and Chetkant Oli (25), both residents of Nepal — were apprehended.
Police recovered 39.88 grams of a brownish-coloured substance suspected to be heroin from their possession. The estimated value of the seized contraband is ₹7,97,600, while the total seizure, including cash and other articles, stands at ₹8,88,800.
Further investigation is underway.
