PANAJI: Directorate of Art & Culture, Panaji- Goa organized State state-level Matoli competition for household individuals during the Ganesh Chaturthi Festival in Goa. The department every year organizes this contest to preserve and promote the age-old tradition of the Matoli decoration. This year overall 13 households from all over Goa participated in the competition.
The winners of State level Matoli Competiton Result-2023: are: 1st Prize(Rs.20,000/-) Datta Shambu Naik (Gauthon, Priol, Ponda – Goa), 2nd Prize (Rs.15,000/-) Srikant P. Satarkar (Rait, Curti, Ponda-Goa),3rd Prize(Rs 12,000/-)Shri.Tanaji K. Gawde (Talule, Bandora, Ponda – Goa),4thPrize (Rs 10,000/-) Devu Satyawan Shetkar(Pilliem, Dharbandora-Goa) and
5th Prize (Rs 8,000/-) Ramakant Duklo Gaonkar (Betoda, Ponda – Goa).
The winners of 5 consolation prizes of Rs. 5,000/- each are:1st consolation Vishant Vasant Gaude (Kelbai, Curti, Ponda-Goa), 2nd consolation Gajanand Bandekar (Velwada, Poigin, Canacona-Goa),3rd consolation Shri Adesh Anand Naik (Navat Wada, Bandora,Ponda-Goa), 4th consolation Shri Rajan Gopal Gaude (Pale, Bicholim – Goa), 5th consolation Shri Khushali N. Satarkar (Savoi Verem, Ponda– Goa)
The State level Matoli competition was judged by Rajendra P. Kerkar, Nagesh Sardesai and Smt. Jyoti Kunkolikar.
The winners of the Matoli competition will be awarded certificates and cash prizes at a special function to be organized by Directorate of Art & Culture which will be informed to the winners well in advance.
