CURTORIM: The dead body of 51-year-old Mahendra Tulaskar, a resident of Curtorim and originally from Mumbai, Maharashtra, was found in a partially decomposed state in a marshy jungle area at Fondegal, Curtorim.
Police said they received information about the body at around 10.46 a.m. from police staff of the Chandor police outpost. On receiving the information, police visited the spot and found the body lying in the marshy land.
An UD occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama were conducted, following which the body was preserved at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
During the preliminary enquiry, police learnt that Tulaskar had arrived in Goa on September 21 at around noon along with his family members at the residence of his uncle, Ganesh Tulaskar, at Fondegal, Curtorim, in connection with the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
According to police, Tulaskar was reportedly disturbed and not stable at the time. He allegedly left the house the same night without informing his family members and had remained missing since then.
