CANACONA: A 40-year-old labourer from Dharwad, Karnataka, was found unconscious in his room at Avalim-Khotigao in Canacona early Thursday morning and was later declared dead at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Canacona.
According to Canacona Police, the deceased has been identified as Shankar Hadimane (35–40), a native of Dharwad, Karnataka. He had been working as a labourer under Ashok Velip of Avalim-Khotigao and had been staying at his employer’s residence for the past five days.
On Thursday morning, Hadimane was found unconscious in the room where he was sleeping. He was immediately shifted to CHC Canacona in a 108 ambulance for medical attention. However, the on-duty doctor declared him brought dead.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama, and the body has been sent to South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for preservation and further medico-legal formalities.
Canacona Police have registered a case of Unnatural Death under Section 194 of the BNSS 2023. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Vishal Velip of Canacona Police Station.
