PONDA: As the State approaches the 2022 Assembly elections, it’s a hot election atmosphere at Priol.
Irrespective of whether the MGP-BJP alliance occurs or not, a big fight is expected in Priol between Minister Govind Gaude and MGP President Deepak Dhavlikar.
The two have begun a verbal dual over taking credit for development work at Priol.
Deepak Dhavlikar, while addressing the media, rejected Bhoma Adkona Panchayat Sarpanch Sunil Bhomkar claims that he failed to renovate Banastari Market.
Bhaskar has said, Minister Govind Gaude started development works in Priol.
Deepak today claimed that he planned the ongoing Banastari Market and was instrumental in getting land for the project, which owned by National Highways.
“It was delayed as the 2017 election were approaching at that time,” he said.
He further said its a mistake by Government to use the tribal fund for Banastari Market.
“If this Market is used for the general public, why is ST fund used,” he questioned?
He said that the project was possible through a general fund. Further now, if ST fund is used, then 80 per cent shops has to be given to ST community.
He said the ST fund should be only be used for the welfare of the ST Community.
He claimed no new development works in Priol, and all those progressing are launched by him when he was MLA.
Regarding Water Treatment Plant at Mardi, Khandepar, he asked if locals are opposed to the project, why the Government is forcing the project on locals?
He said locals oppose the Bandara at Murdi as they fear that their livelihood would be affected if they are deprived of fishing activity.
Both MGP leaders Sudin Dhavalikar and Deepak have started opposing Minister Govind Gaude for using the tribal fund for development works at Priol.
Govind has taken some development work using a tribal fund of the central Government.
However, the Dhavlikar brothers claim that tribal funds should be only for the benefit of ST people and Minister Gaude wasting tribal money on public projects used for the general public.
On the other hand, Gaude’s supporters, including Sarpanches of Vere Vagurme Satyawan Shilkar and Querim Sarpanch Anisha Gaude, said former MLAs, former PWD Minister and Deepak Dhavlikar failed to solve the drinking water problem when they were in power.
“Minister Govind Gaude is trying to implement assurances given in his election manifesto and that the Dhavlikar brothers are jealous of him,” they said.
While the fight among Politicians would continue for credit of works, it’s now Priol Voters to judge who had done better for them and who would be their MLA in the 2022 Election.
