PANAJI: Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that Directorate of Health Services (DHS) is taking necessary steps to assist TB patients by providing diagnostics support.
“The PM Narendra Modi launched TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan with an aim to eliminate TB by 2025. Keeping this in mind, DHS Goa is taking necessary steps to assist TB patients by providing them with nutritional, vocational, or diagnostics support through Nikshay Mitras,” said Rane
He further appealed to everyone to come forward, get themselves examined and treated, and join us in our Prime Minister’s goal of eradicating TB as soon as possible.
“A comprehensive plan has been made by the Prime minister on eradication of TB by 2025,” he added
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the One World TB Summit in Varanasi where he announced initiatives like TB Mukt Panchayat and roll-out of a shorter three-month course on preventive treatment towards achieving the goal of TB elimination by 2025.
The Prime Minister said that India’s fight against the bacterial infection could become the global model for ending TB.
He said that a multi-pronged approach has been followed, including measures to enhance nutrition, increase people’s participation, treatment innovation, integration of technologies and disease prevention through programmes like Fit India, Yoga and Khelo India.
