MARGAO: The Office of the District Magistrate, South Goa District, has issued directions to the Chief Officer of the Margao Municipal Council for the removal of property defacement within the jurisdiction of the Margao Municipal Council.
The Chief Officer has been directed to undertake a special drive within 45 days to remove all unauthorized advertisements, posters, banners, graffiti, and other defacements from public properties.
Upon completion of the special drive, regular drives shall be conducted to ensure the ongoing removal of advertisements, graffiti, posters, banners, and other defacements from public properties.
The Office of the District Magistrate, South Goa District, has also further directed to Identify Defacement within the municipal limits to ensure comprehensive action.
Necessary coordination with municipal staff, enforcement teams, and other agencies shall be ensured.
Adequate manpower and resources must be allocated for the effective implementation of the drives and asked for compliance report, including photographs of the areas before and after the removal of defacement.
Awareness campaigns shall be launched educate the public and stakeholders about the legal consequences of property defacement and discourage such activities in the future.
