MARGAO: District Magistrate, South Goa District has ordered that all the owner of houses, buildings, flats and other residential accommodation and the owners/management of all hotel, lodging and boarding, shacks, private guest house, paying guest accommodation of religious bodies, temporarily residential accommodation etc in the whole of South Goa District should verify the bonafides of the person through their proof of identity such as Election Card, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport Smart Card etc. and make necessary arrangements for entry of details of customers / visitors in the PATHIK (Programme for Analysis of Traveler and Hotel Informatics) software prepared by Police.
The DM further orders that no landlords/tenants/owners/persons of any house/property which fall under the territorial jurisdiction of South Goa District, Goa shall let/sublet/rent out any accommodation to any person unless and until he/she has furnished the particulars of the tenants to Police-In-Charge of the concerned Police Station.
The order further says that the In-charge of such accommodation shall provide such facilities for inspection of the maintenance of record in the above said software by the Police Authorities or any other authority as authorized by the DM if so desired by them.
The DM further has instructed all the heads of Nationalised Banks of South Goa District to deploy security guards for security of their ATMs round the clock and also to install CCTV cameras or install ESS (Electronic Survey System) equipped with Panic button hooter, CCTV Cameras, two – way communication system and remote outstanding control.
The order has came into force with effect from October 30, 2024 and shall remain in operation for a period of 60 day (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier.
