MARGAO: The Governing Council meeting of the Kushavati District Mineral Foundation (DMF) Trust for the Kushavati district was chaired by the Collector South Goa holding charge of Kushavati district, in the presence of Ganesh Gaonkar and Nilesh Cabral, where various matters related to the District Mineral Foundation were discussed.
During the meeting, the Council deliberated on the effective utilisation of DMF funds and reviewed ongoing developmental initiatives in mining-affected areas.
The members emphasised the need to prioritise projects related to healthcare, education, drinking water facilities and infrastructure development for the welfare of residents in affected regions.
Proposals submitted by various government departments were also examined in accordance with District Mineral Foundation guidelines.
Representatives from different government departments were present for the meeting.
