NAVELIM: AAP MLA Capt Venzy Viegas has urged Goans to reflect deeply before casting their votes. “Do you want to vote for a government that takes money for jobs? It’s time to vote wisely,” said Viegas, expressing his anger over the ongoing scams in the State.
“From BJP ministers to karyakartas and even their sons, everyone seems to be involved in this massive job scam. It looks like they are running a full-fledged cash-for-jobs factory,” he added
Venzy said that people are afraid to speak up and expose these corrupt faces. In my Benaulim constituency alone, four individuals paid for jobs but never received them. They are terrified of a BJP karyakarta from Curtorim to whom they handed the money”, said Viegas.
AAP MLAs Capt Venzy Viegas and Engr Cruz Silva, along with AAP Youth Wing leaders, held a protest in Navelim against the Cash for Jobsscam on Friday. They demanded strict action against the culprits involved.
Viegas further said, “We met Governor P. S. Shridharan Pillai and demanded an inquiry into the scam. Then all opposition MLAs sent a letter to PM Narendra Modi explaining how police officials are protecting the culprits instead of taking action. Frustrated by the lack of action on this issue, we have taken to the streets to protest against the BJP government’s mega scam and will continue our efforts across the state until justice is served for Goans”.
He added that the scam has revealed another major issue—fake degree certificates. “While hardworking youths are earning degrees, others are faking them and securing jobs. Goa is in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, thanks to BJP’s failures.”
MLA Engr Cruz Silva highlighted the financial burden on families. “Parents pay for their children’s education, and now they are forced to pay lakhs for jobs. This is unacceptable.”
Silva emphasised that AAP, which governs in Delhi and Punjab, has successfully provided lakhs of jobs without a hint of corruption. “Have you ever heard of AAP leaders demanding money for jobs? Only the BJP government resorts to such shameful tactics”, Silva remarked.
AAP Youth Wing VP Salman Khan said, “Qualified people are unemployed while unqualified ones get jobs through corruption. We have had enough. Stop selling jobs. If you want corruption-free, people-focused governance, support AAP.”
