Margao: In a thrilling semifinal match, Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda cemented their place in the finals of the 17th All Goa Inter Village Seraulim Panchayat Cup football tournament with a convincing 4-1 victory over the host team, United Sports Club (USC) Seraulim. This win was marked by standout performances from key players and a few pivotal moments that decided the outcome.
Roque Borges and Edger Noronha were instrumental in setting the tone for Don Bosco Oratory’s success, with their early goals paving the way for a dominant display. The match, held at the Seraulim Panchayat Ground on Thursday, was organized by USC Seraulim and witnessed a high level of competition.
In the semifinal, Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda took an early lead when Roque Borges scored with a powerful header in the 6th minute. Edger Noronha doubled the advantage in the 21st minute, capitalizing on a well-collected pass from Cliff Barreto. Before halftime, Shashank Shanke of USC Seraulim pulled one goal back in the 24th minute, making the score 2-1 in favor of Don Bosco Fatorda.
The second half saw Don Bosco Oratory extend their lead further. Shubert Colaco scored the third goal in the 31st minute, while USC Seraulim missed a crucial penalty opportunity that could have narrowed the gap. However, Don Bosco Oratory sealed their victory when Richie Vaz scored the fourth goal in the 59th minute with a header assisted by Edger Noronha.
Shashank Shanke of USC Seraulim was recognized for his efforts, being awarded the Man of the Match by Kennedy D’Souza, president of USC Seraulim. Don Bosco Oratory Fatorda will now face the winners of the second semifinal between Nuvem Sports Club and Guardian Angel in the final match.
