Panaji: Lifesavers of Drishti Marine carried out several rescue and assistance operations across Goa’s beaches over the weekend, ensuring the safety of tourists and locals.
At Colva, a distressed tourist was assisted and handed over to police for further support. In another incident, a beach marshal sustained a dog bite while on patrol and was shifted for medical treatment. A lost mobile phone was also recovered and returned to its owner after verification.
At Morjim Beach, a tourist from Bengaluru was rescued after getting stuck in deep waters. At Baga, beach marshals intervened in a case of inappropriate photography and recovered multiple lost mobile phones, returning them to their owners in the presence of police.
At Calangute, a tourist received first aid after suffering a deep cut from broken glass near the shoreline. At Candolim, an 18-year-old tourist experiencing vomiting and breathing difficulty was given oxygen support and shifted to Mapusa District Hospital.
At Benaulim, a missing six-year-old boy was traced and reunited with his father. Other tourists were treated for minor injuries at Benaulim and Palolem.
Drishti Marine personnel also assisted in additional medical cases and helped recover lost belongings, highlighting continuous vigilance and swift response along Goa’s coastline.
