ANJUNA: Goa police’s anti-narcotic cell (ANC) detained 33-year-old Karan Govekar of Anjuna on suspicion of having synthetic drugs valued at approximately Rs 9 lakh. Following a tip, they carried out a raid at Ozran, Vagator on Saturday morning, arresting Govekar in possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, and ecstasy valued at Rs 8.9 lakh in the international market, according to ANC PI Sajith Pillai. The ANC had been keeping an eye on the accused for a few weeks. He moved his operations to the daytime since he suspected this and wanted to avoid raising any more questions. However, following further technological and informant surveillance, the ANC was notified that the accused would be visiting Vagator to supply drugs to his potential client, according to Pillai.
According to Pillai, a total of 15 premium ecstasy tablets, 37g of cocaine, and 37g of methamphetamine were taken from the defendant. Additionally, they attached a vehicle that Govekar used to transport drugs to his clients.
