MOIRA: A case of public nuisance, assault and criminal trespass has been registered at Moira in Bardez after a drunken altercation allegedly escalated into threats and violence near a residential area.
According to police, the incident occurred on March 1 at around 7 pm near a house close to Bank of Baroda at Moira. Complainant Sunil Dahiya, a resident of Moira, alleged that the accused, identified as Suryanath Bhogan of Calizor, Moira, along with another person acting with common intention, consumed alcohol in an open public place and created a nuisance.
The accused allegedly abused the complainant and his friends, including women, using filthy language and threatened them with dire consequences while they were walking on the public road. The complaint further states that the accused insulted the modesty of the women present during the altercation.
When the complainant intervened, one of the accused, identified as Suryakant Bhogan, allegedly assaulted him by banging his head against the complainant’s body. It is further alleged that both accused later criminally trespassed into the complainant’s residence, banged on the main entrance door and issued death threats while making gestures to assault him.
Police have registered an offence in the matter, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Bablo Parab.
