PANAJI: Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai today said that will move a private member resolution in the upcoming session to give Goans Dual Citizenship.
“I will move a private member resolution in the upcoming session to give Goans Dual Citizenship,” said Vijai.
He further said that Foreign Affairs Ministry is on record saying that Dual Citizenship is under consideration
“There could be an amendment in the act there can be a provision for switch on and switch off because this has happened before in the French Colony of Pondicherry” Vijai said.
Vijai also had said that there are Goans who might have registered his or her birth with the Portuguese authorities with the single aim of a better standard of living.
“If the present trend of complaints continues, Goa could soon see personal scores being settled by filing of FIRs, which could open another avenue for harassment and corruption,” said Sardesai.
Referring to CM’s statement that Goans have got identity because of Prime Minister, Vijai said that he would like say that CM has got identity because of Prime Minister.
Meanwhile, MLA Adv Carlos Ferreira said that he along with Vijai Sardesai will move private member resolution in the upcoming session for Dual Citizenships to Goans.
