DUDHSAGAR: Despite the government’s statement that jeep trips to the Dudhsagar falls would begin on Monday, the tour operators in Dudhsagar have maintained their demand to have the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) counter removed.
The operators remain steadfast in their demand that the GTDC counter be taken down and that online reservations be made via the tour operators organization.
They said that the GTDC’s fee hike was the reason for the drop in the number of tourists visiting Dudhsagar Falls. The operators expressed their expectation that Chief Minister Sawant will provide a resolution.
The Dudhsagar Tour Operators Association, meanwhile, reportedly handed over the reservations to GTDC without taking them into confidence, prompting the association to file a police complaint against its former president on Monday.
The association members met with local MLA Ganesh Gaonkar, the chairman of the GTDC, but the discussion ended without a resolution because of strained relations between the legislator and the tour operators.
