PANAJI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today with two prominent entities, the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and the Department of Posts (DoP), aiming to amplify voter outreach and awareness efforts in anticipation of the upcoming General Elections to Lok Sabha 2024.
This initiative reflects the ECI’s ongoing commitment to bolstering electoral awareness in the nation.
The Department of Posts (DoP) and India Post Payment Bank (IPPB), are government-owned entities under the DoP engaged in providing banking, insurance, postal, and other services across the length and breadth of the country.
The initiative entails disseminating voter education content across various promotional platforms, including social media and customer outreach channels of member institutions, ensuring broad awareness among stakeholders and the general public. Additionally, voter education messages will be prominently displayed through posters, flex banners, and hoardings at office premises in significant locations, effectively reaching customers at crucial touch points.
All member institutions affiliated with the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and Department of Posts (DoP) will establish Voter Awareness Forums, fostering discussions and initiatives related to voter education among employees and customers.
Furthermore, as part of SWEEP ACTIVITIES, members and affiliated institutions/units will feature voter education messages prominently on their websites, guiding visitors to learn more about the electoral process.
