MARGAO: A 70-year-old woman died in a tragic lift mishap at a residential building in Margao.
According to information received from the hospital, the victim, identified as Marcia Rosa Pacheco, a resident of Chandravaddo, Fatorda, was brought dead to the casualty ward at around 10:10 pm.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that the deceased had gone to meet a friend at Reliance Park, Calva. Police said the woman allegedly opened the lift gate and entered before the
elevator had reached the floor.
During the incident, the lift reportedly moved and struck her, causing her to get trapped inside.
She sustained fatal injuries in the mishap.
Margao police have taken up further investigation into the incident.
