PANAJI: The Electricity Department of Goa, along with the Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA), has been promoting clean cooking through various schemes, including incentives for rooftop solar systems and subsidies for biogas plants.
The State is also focusing on transitioning to electric cooking through initiatives like the Goem Vinamulya Vij Yevjan and the Electric Mobility Promotion Policy stated Minister for Power, Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavlikar while speaking at a function organized to distribute Induction cooktops to 650 Anganwadis from six Talukas in the State.
The function was organized by the Department of Electricity in collaboration with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency at Seminar hall secretariat Porvorim, today.
The Minister said the sources of energy are important and need to be conserved and used judiciously. The induction cooktops were given under the promotion of the Clean Cooking Programme.
The Anganwadis of six talukas which are to benefit under this scheme are Sattari, Bicholim, Bardez, Ponda, Salcete and Quepem. The rest of Anganwadis in other talukas will be covered under the scheme in the next phase.
Nodal Officer State designated Agency, and Supdt. Engineer Electricity Department, Mayur Hede , CDPOs, Mukhyasevikas and others attended the function.
