CUNCOLIM: In a case of burglary reported from the industrial hub of Cuncolim, a break-in occurred at Joecons Marine Exports Pvt. Ltd., resulting in the theft of approximately ₹3.18 lakh in cash.
The incident took place in the early hours of July 6, 2025, around 1:00 AM, and was reported by Jo Afan, Manager of the company and a resident of Margao.
According to the complaint filed at Cuncolim Police Station, the accused has been identified as Md. Sayed Ali, a resident of IDC Cuncolim and originally from Kamalpur, Assam.
The suspect allegedlygained unauthorized entry into the factory premises through the back door, broke open the office drawers and a safe locker, and fled with the stolen cash.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police registered a case and initiated an investigation under the supervision of PSI Aditya Sawant.
Efforts are underway to trace the accused and recover the stolen amount. Forensic teams were reportedly deployed to the scene to collect fingerprints and other evidence.
Police officials have assured that all angles are being thoroughly examined, including possible internal assistance and surveillance footage analysis. The incident has raised concerns about security lapses in industrial units in the area.
