MARDOL: Pooja Naik, an Old Goan resident who was recently arrested for allegedly defrauding a family in Curti of Rs 14 lakh by making false promises of government jobs, has had five luxury cars retrieved by Mardol Police.
According to reports, Naik promised one family member a job in the Public Works Department (PWD) as a Junior Engineer and another as a Lower Division Clerk (LDC).
Pooja appeared before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) and was placed under police custody for four days.
Under Section 318(4) of the BNS Act, the Mardol Police filed the complaint, and PSI Vibhinav Shirodkar was in charge of the inquiry. Authorities anticipate capturing her co-conspirator shortly.
Police in Porvorim and Bicholim have also filed complaints against Naik in connection with related occurrences, claiming that she misled others by offering them government jobs in exchange for money.

Mandrekar asserted that somewhere between November 20, 2021, and December 12, 2021, the accused had deceived her at Porvorim.

The accused is identified as Ajit Satarkar. Police informed that Pooja and her husbands bank account as well as car has been seized. Pooja who was arrested 3 days back has been remanded to 4 days police custody.
