PONDA: Ponda police have registered a theft case against a technician accused of stealing gold jewellery from a house in Shiroda while carrying out repair work.
According to police, the complaint was filed by Kaustubh Pandit, a resident of Shiroda. The alleged theft took place on May 20 between 3 pm and 4 pm at the complainant’s residence.
Police said the accused, identified as Kishan Kumar, had visited the house to repair a fan. During the visit, he allegedly stole a gold chain and a gold locket collectively valued at around Rs 1.6 lakh.
Following the complaint, Ponda Police registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Chetan Naik.
