CANACONA : Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar said that Film City is coming and it is a reality as everyone wants it in Canacona and the government is working on this front, which will also help us to solve our unemployment issues to a large extent.

Addressing the public on the occasion, Tawadkar said, ‘Since we were born after liberation, we had to gain our knowledge of the struggles which our ancestors went through and atrocities suffered from our elders and few freedom fighters who were alive to give the first-hand accounts of the happenings during our colonialism, besides gaining knowledge from the booksWhile trying to learn this, the status in which Goa was going through during the Portuguese regime, people’s status and the struggles put-up by our people for liberation. After Goa was liberated, our people’s status and struggles put up by people for developments and today’s status, we have come now at this stage to take Goa ahead at the next level in the coming 25-50 years.’
Tawadkar also spoke about ‘Vission and Mission’ concept stating how Canacona is part of Vikshit-Bharat, 1300 cr worth Karmalghat section highway tender is completed and it will be completed in next two to two and half years time. Priority is given to the Canacona rural area to make 100 % of underground electricity, which is in the final stages due to support extended by our chief minister.’
‘Water issue is an all State level matter, and as Canacona is concerned, we have already achieved success by supplying water daily for 12 hours in Canacona municipal areas. With the existing water capacity in Chapoli dam itself, we can give 10 hours daily water supply throughout the taluka. In a few months time, we have kept the capacity to provide water-supply at least for 10 hours daily in Poinguinim, Khotigao and Gaondongrim from Gaunem dam. In both these dams, we have more than needed water capacity than what is required to provide full-time supply all over the taluka. We are reaching upto the last person on antodhya tatwa and each of Canconkar will be swayampurna Goenkar
