With the beaches witnessing a significant increase in tourists, the coast witnessed five sea rescues over the last three days while a five year old boy who was lost was reunited with his parents.
A five year old lad who had wandered away from his parents was spotted by a vigilant shack employee while at the beach. The male brought the young boy to the lifesaving tower for assistance. Announcements were made via the speakers mounted on the rescue vehicles along the beach while messages were relayed to the other towers in the vicinity. Alerted by the announcements, a short while later the parents of the boy turned up at the tower. The young lad was reunited with the parents. The family hailed from Rajasthan.
Meanwhile Drishti’s lifesavers conducted single rescues in Calangute, Vagator and Arambol yesterday. The rescues in Vagator and Arambol involved males in their 20s hailing from Maharashtra. Meanwhile a 30 year old female also from Maharashtra, was rescued from Calangute. Baga witnessed a double rescue involving males in their 20s. The duo were part of a group visiting from Hyderabad.
