PONDA: While stating that immigration rules in each country must be respected, Goa NRI Commissioner Narendra Sawaikar urged everyone to follow the correct procedures when travelling abroad.
“Immigration rules in each country must be respected. I urge everyone to follow the correct procedures when travelling abroad,” he said.
The two Goans arrived at Dabolim Airport this afternoon. They were among 116 Indians who were deported from the United States due to illegal immigration.
After taking a domestic aircraft from Amritsar to Goa, they went through the usual formalities and had their documents examined.
Refusing to provide the names of the deportees, Goa NRI Commissioner Sawaikar stated that every nation has its own immigration laws.
For more information, the Commission is probably going to get in touch with the two Goans.
Sawaikar added that the NRI Commission is always on hand to help anybody who requires assistance with travel-related paperwork.
Additionally, Sawaikar sent out a message to all Goans seeking employment overseas, especially through agents. “Before making any decision, please verify all details carefully,” he said.
