MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have registered a case after a foreign national allegedly escaped from the Detention Centre at Mapusa under the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Goa.
According to the complaint lodged by ASI Ramchandra Parsekar attached to Detention Centre Mapusa (FRRO), on June 15, 2026, at around 8.45 am, accused Alexandr Arkhipov, a Kazakhstan national and resident of the detention centre, allegedly escaped from the premises.
The accused was reportedly lodged at the detention centre and was lawfully detained under an order issued by FRRO Panaji vide Order No. FRRO/GOA/R.M.O.32/2026/4151/2026 dated June 1, 2026, along with a corrigendum issued on June 13, 2026.
Police stated that the accused allegedly violated the detention order and conditions applicable to his stay in India by escaping from custody.
Further investigation is underway.
