CANACONA: Works to construct two open-type Bhandaras is taken up at Ponsuleamoll (Khotigao) and Amone (Poinguinim) at an overall costs of about 6 Cr.
WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar in te presence of Canacona MLA and GLA Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar laid the foundation Stone for the construction of Open Type Bhandara,Near Adarsh Gram, Amone in VP Poinguinim and a second Open Type Bhandara at Jaifond, Ponsuleamoll accross Buddem Nallah in VP Khotigao on Friday.
Incidentally, the foundation stone laying ceremony was supposed to be attended by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, but in the absence of CM, the foundation stone was laid at the hands of Minister Shirodkar, a source informed.
The Bhandara at Amone, near Adarsh Gram is being constructed at a cost of about 4 crore of rupees while the cost of Khotigao Bhandara is about 1.90 cr., informed a source.
In a breif function held in the Hall at Balram Residential High school, Amone, Poinguinim Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar, Dy Sarpanch Sunil Paingankar, Khotigao sarpanch Anandu Dessai, Senior Officers of WRD Ankush Gaonkar, Canacona BJP mandal president Vishal Dessai.
