PANAJI: The Additional Sessions Court in Panaji cleared four accused—Jack Oliveira, Kamresh Kudalkar, Manish Hadfadkar, and Gaurish Gawas—of all charges on Monday, ending the five-year-old murder case.
In 2019, during a fight between two groups, the locals were accused of killing their rival Krishna Kuttikar by chopping off his hand at the wrist.
Two days after the injury, while receiving treatment at Goa Medical College (GMC), the victim passed away from “hypovolemic shock” due to a significant blood loss.
According to police, who cited doctors, the other injuries on his body were not life-threatening.
Eight of them attacked three others at a garage in Nagali on that fateful day, which led to the start of a fight between two groups in Taleigao.
Four of these came on three two-wheeled vehicles carrying weapons; they were all masked. Kuttikar, the brother of one of the victims, pursued the accused when they started attacking the trio. Kuttikar lost his hand as a result of the accused’s alleged assault on him at Ribandar, according to the prosecution.
