MAPUSA: Police have registered a gambling case after unidentified persons were allegedly caught operating a game of chance near a hotel in Mapusa on Wednesday night.
According to police sources, the complaint was filed by Shreha Dhargalkar, a resident of Corlim, Old Goa. The incident reportedly took place at around 8.50 pm near Vrundavan Hotel in Mapusa.
During the operation, police found several persons allegedly engaged in gambling activities at a public place. However, upon noticing police presence, the suspects reportedly fled from the scene, leaving behind gambling-related articles and materials used for the illegal activity.
The seized items were taken into custody as evidence, and a case has been registered against unknown persons under relevant provisions related to gambling activities.
