VASCO: Sports Minister Govind Gaude inspected the Bhutebhat sports complex project along with Tilak ground in Vasco on Tuesday. The Minister says timely maintenance of the infrastructure and proper use is needed.
During his inspection of the Bhutebhat sports complex, Gaude assured to resolve the water leakage issue from the sports complex with proper interior lighting. He also emphasised that maintenance of any infrastructure is needed. The Minister gave a patient hearing to all the questions asked and said that the work related to the renovation and repair of this sports complex will be done in two phases. In one phase, the leakage of the roof will be solved, and other works such as a gymnasium for people, two Table tennis tables, etc., will be provided here.
He also said that a residential coaching camp for youngsters in sports will be held soon. Wherein students from rural areas of Goa will be searched and given training.
Later during the inspection of Tilak ground in Vasco, he said that proper maintenance of this ground would be taken up soon. When asked about this ground to be open for all the public, he said that to do so, he needed some time to think as the purpose of this ground was to have season matches. Later during his visit to the SAG gym in Vasco, he appreciated the maintenance work done by the gym instructor Mukesh Girap.
Gaude suggested making the gym air-conditioned and immediately introducing some sound systems and other minor up-gradation to the gymnasium.
