PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has been appointed as a member of the group of ministers (GoM) on life and health insurance, which has been constituted by the GST Council.
The GoM will submit its report by October 30, 2024.
The GoM’s convenor is Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, while its members are ministers from various states. The current GST tax system on life and health insurance will be scrutinized and evaluated by the ministerial committee.
It will recommend GST rates for various categories, such as middle-class individuals, elderly people, people with mental illnesses, and others, on health and medical insurance, including individual, group, and family floaters.
Additionally, it will suggest prices for life insurance, including term insurance, individual or group life insurance with investment plans, and reinsurance on the same.
