MAYEM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today slammed Mayem locals for opposing law college while stating that that there is this tendency to oppose each and everything in Goa.
CM Sawant was addressing the gathering after laying the oundation Stone of Various Developmental Works in Mayem Constituency.
“There is this human tendency to oppose each and everything; the village will progress only when there is development; I don’t understand opposition to education institutions like IIT, Law college,” said Sawant
He said, “Let me tell you, you r spoiling your future generation; don’t oppose somthing for name sake; it is govt land,”
Sawant said that such institutions adopt nearby schools and help in student progress.
He said that “the law college is a very prestigious educational project. Locals will be absorbed into non-teaching and other jobs. There will be a huge infrastructure required for the project, which will totally change the face of Mayem.”
“A handful of people are opposing such an important project and trying to take undue advantage of the media to attain their ulterior motives,” Sawant claimed.
Sawant said that opposition to any developmental projects will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly.
