PANAJI: At a meeting with Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai at Raj Bhavan, a delegation from the Goa Forward Party (GFP) presented a memorandum accusing hardened criminals of being utilised to silence and discredit MLAs who are critical of the government.
“Suleiman Sidiqqui has stated that he was forced to shoot a video under gunpoint and coercion,” said Dr. Babita Angle Prabhudesai, a member of the delegation.
There have been attempts to discredit Vijai Sardesai. This accusation is really serious. A outspoken MLA who frequently criticises the government is being defamed by a serious criminal.
This is the first instance of this kind of thing happening. For this reason, we sent the governor our memorandum.
When it was brought out that Sidiqqui had also brought up other MLAs, Dr. Prabhudesai said, “If he has identified further MLAs, then those involved ought to come forward. and, as we have done, file a memorandum to higher authorities.
