PANAJI:The Goa Government has introduced the Goa Taxi Driver App to modernize the state’s transport system and support traditional taxi operators.
This initiative aims to boost digital engagement among local drivers while offering passengers a more convenient and transparent travel experience.
To encourage participation, the government has announced a limited-time incentive: the first 500 drivers who complete 50 rides via the app and remain active for 30 days (between 8 AM and 8 PM) will be rewarded with 25 litres of free fuel, tailored to their vehicle type—petrol, diesel, or CNG.
Designed to simplify bookings and ensure fair pricing, the app seeks to reduce reliance on private ride-hailing platforms and strengthen the position of local taxi operators. Officials believe the move will enhance Goa’s tourism-focused transport network.
The Transport Department has urged taxi drivers across the state to register and actively use the app to avail the benefits and future government incentives.
