PANAJI: The Cabinet led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today has accorded approval to revised dump policy.
Chief Minister addressing the media informed that dumps lying on private land and unclaimed, no land conversion charges paid, will be auctioned by the government.
“Dumps lying on private land & unclaimed, no land conversion charges paid, will be auctioned by the government; around 30-40 dumps have been identified,” said Sawant
Sawant also said that auction to be done in coming days and Rs 400-500cr expected based on quality and quantity.
“Land would be freezed. E-auction to be done in transperant manner,” he added
CM further said that 29 posts under the ESI scheme in the Labour and Employment Department are to be filled on a contract basis at the ESI hospital.
“All cash-for-job scams and bank fraud inquiries have been conducted in a transparent manner. No one will be spared,” said CM Dr. Pramod Sawant.
Chief Minister also said that all the scams and frauds are being investigated thoroughly, police are given free hand and that there is complete transparency in investigation, police are on right track.
“Fatorda to London is also being investigated; no political link yet in cash for jobs scam,” said Sawant
Investigations are going on and police have been given a freehand to arrest anyone involved, said the chief minister.
The inquiry is ongoing, and no one involved will be released after it is finished. “The police are headed in the right direction,” Sawant stated.
The government initiated the investigation on its own initiative. “Those impacted began to come forward after I made an appeal for them to do so in order to file complaints. Until then, no one was coming forward. At home, everyone was sitting in fear. The probe is fully transparent,” the chief minister declared.
Goa police have previously ruled out any political connection to the scam or even its operation by an organized racket, claiming that the instances are unrelated. According to the DGP, the inquiry is being conducted in a professional manner.
