PANAJI: It has been disclosed that Maina Curtorim police will seek technical experts to retrieve the missing footage from the Ponda police station, where Kanyakumar Mondol was taken prior to his death. This decision is made in light of the allegations surrounding the missing footage.
“The moisture has caused an error.” Investigation team would ask the InfoTech Corporation of Goa for help in retrieving the footage.
The death of the Bihar laborer was first reported as a “hit and run,” but after forensic experts determined that he had passed away before he was purportedly run over by a truck, the case was changed to murder.
Constables Ashwin Sawant, Pritesh Prabhu, and Ravindra Naik, the head of the Ponda police station, have all three been suspended, and their roles are also under investigation.
According to sources, these police officers had brought Mondol to the station before the deadly incident occurred in response to complaints from neighbors about him causing a disturbance. On June 25–26, Mondol was discovered dead by the side of the road in Loutolim after being dropped off outside the jurisdiction of Maina Curtorim.
According to sources, the video could provide important details about his health when he was taken to the police station. On Thursday, a truck driver from the adjacent State was taken into custody.
