A major focus remains on strengthening the road network. The Public Works Department is executing 17 road and highway projects worth ₹1,200.70 crore, including a six-lane elevated corridor from Sangolda junction to Majestic Hotel in Porvorim along National Highway 66. The corridor is expected to ease congestion on one of the busiest stretches connecting Panaji with North Goa.
Other key projects include the construction of a flyover at Dhargal on NH-66, vehicular underpasses at Naibag and Peddem, and a foot overbridge near the Holy Shrine at Bambolim. The Assonora bypass along State Highway-1 is also part of the infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving traffic flow across the state.economic-survey-202526

The survey notes that 31 projects worth ₹673.67 crore are currently in progress, while 14 projects costing ₹148.21 crore were completed during the financial year.economic-survey-202526
The aviation sector is also witnessing expansion. Work is underway to expand the terminal building at Manohar International Airport at Mopa at an estimated cost of ₹255.69 crore. Once completed, the project will increase the built-up area of the terminal and support higher passenger capacity as the airport continues to grow as a major aviation hub.economic-survey-202526
The survey states that since its commissioning in January 2023, the airport has already handled over 1.40 crore passengers and nearly one lakh aircraft movements, connecting Goa to several domestic and international destinations.economic-survey-202526
In addition to transportation projects, the state government is planning a large redevelopment initiative through the National Buildings Construction Corporation. The first phase of the programme, estimated at ₹1,721 crore, will include redevelopment of key government infrastructure such as Junta House, the KTC bus stand at Vasco, administrative buildings in Panaji and government quarters at St Inez.economic-survey-202526
Tourism infrastructure is another priority area identified in the survey. Projects under implementation include the development of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Digital Museum at Farmagudi, a town square in Porvorim and beautification works at several tourist locations including Harvallem Falls and Colva beach.
These investments come at a time when the state’s tourism sector continues to perform strongly. The survey records 108.02 lakh tourist arrivals in 2025, reflecting sustained growth in domestic tourism and a gradual recovery in foreign arrivals.economic-survey-202526
Officials say the infrastructure push is aimed at improving connectivity, boosting tourism and attracting investment, while strengthening Goa’s economic growth in the coming years.
