Panaji: Goa delivered a stellar performance at the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA) Nationals in Bengaluru, underlining the state’s growing prominence in the sport. Led by Captain Nishad Shevde, the Goan contingent returned with an impressive medal haul of 2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze.
In the team events, the 50+ Men’s Team, featuring Noel Noronha, Wilfred Jacques, Mano Chhabra, and Clarence Noronha, clinched the Gold medal with a dominant display. The 40+ Women’s Team, consisting of Charmaine Godinho, Natasha De Ataide, Audrey Menezes, and Meenakshi Chodankar, showcased resilience to secure the Bronze medal.
Goa’s success extended to the Individual Open Events. Aarin Ballani, partnering with Rajasthan’s Miheet Dhaneja, captured Gold in the Under-12 Boys Doubles. Veteran Noel Noronha added a Silver in the 50+ Men’s Singles, while Charmaine Godinho and Natasha De Ataide earned Bronze in the 40+ Women’s Doubles. Audrey Menezes, alongside Maharashtra’s Ashnu Nichani, also secured a Bronze in the 50+ Women’s Doubles.
The strong showing by Team Goa reflects the state’s growing talent in pickleball and sets a promising tone for future national competitions.
