PANAJI: Goa is set to host a comprehensive startup handholding programme as part of National Startup Day 2026, reinforcing the state’s growing focus on innovation driven entrepreneurship. The initiative will be organised by the Startup and IT Promotion Cell under the Department of Information Technology, Electronics and Communications and will be held on January 19 at the Goa Marriott Resort in Miramar.
The programme aims to provide structured and practical guidance to startups seeking to understand and benefit from various startup schemes offered by the Government of India and the Government of Goa. Designed as an end to end support platform, the initiative will help startups navigate policy frameworks, eligibility criteria, and application processes with greater clarity and confidence.
Participants will gain insights through a mix of panel discussions, detailed presentations on government schemes, and an interactive workshop. These sessions are expected to focus on best practices for startup growth, regulatory and compliance requirements, and preparing startups to become funding ready. The format has been designed to ensure that founders not only receive information but also practical tools to apply the learnings to their own ventures.
The programme will also serve as a networking platform, enabling startups to connect with incubators, industry associations, mentors, and other ecosystem enablers. Such interactions are expected to open avenues for collaboration, mentorship, and access to institutional support that can accelerate startup growth.
Officials associated with the initiative have highlighted that startups registering for the National Startup Day event will receive step by step guidance, awareness about relevant schemes, and follow up assistance to help them successfully avail government benefits. The programme is expected to play a key role in strengthening the link between policy support and on ground execution for startups in Goa.
In addition to knowledge sharing and networking, the event will also recognise and felicitate successful startups and key contributors who have played a role in building Goa’s startup ecosystem. This acknowledgement is intended to inspire emerging entrepreneurs and showcase success stories from within the state.
Startups, incubators, and ecosystem stakeholders interested in leveraging government incentives and strengthening their growth journey have been encouraged to register in advance. The initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to nurturing a resilient, inclusive, and innovation led startup ecosystem in Goa, while positioning the state as a supportive destination for emerging enterprises.
