As in previous years, Goa will participate in the much-awaited upcoming 43rd edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) to be held at the iconic Bharat Mandapam in the national capital, New Delhi from November 14 to 27, 2024. The theme of IITF for this year is “Viksit Bharat @2047”.
The Department of the Information and Publicity (DIP), which is the Nodal Agency of the State Government to effectively disseminate information on varied aspects through different modes of communication, participates in this annual Mega Trade Fair wherein apart from different States and Union Territories of the country, foreign nations from across the globe will also take part in this International Fair in a bid to showcase their progress and development and conduct business activity. Besides DIP this year, the IITF will see the participation of other line departments including the Department of Handicrafts, Textile, and Coir; Goa Tourism Development Corporation; Department of Tourism; Goa Investment Promotion Board; Directorate of Planning, Statistics and Evaluation; Goa State Biodiversity Board; Goa Waste Management Corporation and Department Of Science, Technology and Waste Management.
Shri Dipak Bandekar, Director, Department of Information and Publicity will inaugurate the Goa Pavilion which will be set up on a space measuring 203 Sq.mts. earmarked by the India Trade Promotion Organisation under the Bare scheme in Hall No. 3 (New Hall). The Goa Pavilion will be designed in line with this year’s theme with an emphasis on protecting the rich Goan Cuisine with the courteous hospitality of Goan people and also showcase Goa’s developmental achievements through audiovisuals, Small Hoardings, and Photographic display. Also, achievements and key initiatives and activities of the State will be showcased at the Goa Pavilion.
In addition to this, the Goan artisans through the Department of Handicrafts, Textile, and Coir; Goa BioDiversity Board; and Department of Environment, Science and Technology will sell their traditional Goan products/items and also GI-tagged products/items at the Goa Pavilion. Stress will be laid to promote only traditional Goa Products at the Goan Stall during the 14-day trade fair which concludes on November 27, 2024. The Goa Pavilion is a platform for direct interaction between producers, potential buyers, and consumers.
The highlight of the Goa Pavilion will be the performances of Goan artists on a daily basis who will enthrall the visitors with their artistic talent and captivating music by presenting Goa’s rich cultural traditions.
