Panaji: Goa Tourism is proudly participating in the ‘Incredible India Exhibition’ from July 21st to July 31st, 2024, at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center, New Delhi. This prestigious event aims to highlight the rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism opportunities across all the states and Union Territories of India. Held alongside the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee, the exhibition was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the distinguished presence of UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. Representing the Goa Tourism department is Akshay Govekar, Manager of Marketing GTDC.
The Goa stall, located at Hall No. 14, offers a unique platform to showcase the state’s rich history, culture, and natural beauty to a broader audience. Traditional local Goan handicrafts and artworks, including those made by local craftsmen from coconut shells, will be prominently displayed to promote local artisans.
This event will significantly elevate Goa Tourism’s aim to promote Goa beyond beaches, emphasizing hinterland tourism and introducing the state’s local culture and heritage. Platforms like these are excellent opportunities for networking and learning from other states, providing a space for exchanging ideas and best practices. Additionally, Goa Tourism hopes that local art, crafts, and businesses will benefit from the exposure and opportunities presented at this exhibition.
LED screens will provide visual displays of Goa’s pristine beaches, heritage sites, adventure activities, and wellness tourism, captivating visitors with the state’s picturesque landscapes and vibrant culture. This event not only aims to promote tourism but also underscores Goa Tourism’s commitment to showcasing the state’s unique offerings beyond its famous beaches. By emphasizing hinterland tourism and the state’s rich cultural heritage, the exhibition will introduce visitors to the lesser-known facets of Goa.
Platforms like the ‘Incredible India Exhibition’ are invaluable as through these interactions, Goa Tourism hopes to enhance its strategies and further develop its tourism sector. The event also provides an opportunity for local artisans and businesses to gain exposure and benefit from the increased interest in Goan culture and crafts. By promoting sustainable and responsible tourism practices, the Goa Tourism Department aims to create a positive impact on the local economy and preserve its cultural and natural heritage for future generations.
