PANAJI: Motorsport enthusiast Ashrafi ShetDesai Gaikwad from Ponda achieved a significant milestone by securing her first podium finish at the Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC). She finished as the second runner up in the national championship, with the final rounds held on March 28 and 29, 2026 in Chikmagalur.
The championship saw intense competition over the course of a year, featuring five qualifying rounds conducted across different parts of India. More than forty participants competed in the series, making the contest highly competitive for drivers aiming to secure a place on the podium.
Ashrafi’s achievement stands out as an important moment in her motorsports journey. Competing against experienced drivers from across the country, she displayed consistency and determination throughout the championship to finish among the top competitors.
Her podium finish also marks a proud moment for Goa in the national motorsports arena. The accomplishment highlights the growing participation of Goan racers in professional racing events and reflects the increasing presence of women in motorsports.
