The District Magistrate, North Goa on Friday has ordered to de-seal the Goddemal
Village, Deulwada and Kasarwada in Sattari taluka which were declared as Containment and
Buffer Zones respectively with immediate effect.
The district administration, on June 13, had declared Goddemal as containment zone for
COVID-19, while surrounding Kasarwada and Deulwada as buffer zone areas after the locality reported nearly 15 positive cases.
A health worker, working at Vasco Public Health Center, and his family members were first to be tested positive in Goddemal, last week. All 15 cases were linked to Mangor Hill. Sanitization and testing of the villagers was undertaken thereafter.
This was the second containment zone notified in less than 15 days. The first containment zone – Mangor Hill continues to report cases since June 1.
Sources said that since Goddemal did not receive any cases for nearly a fortnight, decision to de-seal the village was taken in consultation with the health officials.
