PANJIM: Goencho Avaz on Tuesday has accused environment minister nilesh cabral of “backstabbing” thr people of goa on the proposed Nauxim Marina project.
“Goencho Avaazwas surprised and shocked at the brazen denial of responsibility by the Environment Minister regarding the Nauxim Marina project. Such attitude of washing away hands /responsibility from a project that affects the environment and will cause enormous damage to the rivers as well as the state is highly condemnable.” Goencho Awaz Core Committee Member Jose Miranda said
Miranda said, “The childish like reasoning by the Environment Minister Shri Nilesh Cabral that the project is being propagated by the Central Government and the state has no role to play lays bare the servile approach of the minister, since just about a year back, the same minister was hopping from taluka to taluka regarding the Coastal Zome Mangement Plan which infact was the domain of the Centre.”
Further, the minister’s approach and denial of responsibility is like back stabbing the people of Goa and the state as a whole because this minister along with host of MLAs had sworn during the formation of the ministry that they will do whatever is required to protect the interest of the state.
“The minister should disclose as to what is the reason if not gratification that is tying his hands from exercising his official as well as moral duty to protect Goa from destructive policies of his own government.” She added
Meanwhile, Goencho Avaaz has said that it will ensure that such behavior, attitude and selfish motives of ministers and MLAs is exposed in the people’s court and they will be made to explain the reasons for their blatant lies and betrayals just to save their seat of power.
